What is the purpose of
a Urinal and WC Sanitizer?

A sanitizer's purpose is to stop cross infection between people in the work place and customer’s patronizing your establishments. What if one of these people came to work one day carrying some sort of disease, like Flu, Common Cold, Ecoli, Gastroenteritis or even Hepatitis.

As they use the toilet, the disease they are carrying comes out in their waste products. When the system is flushed, and the water is dispersed, fine water droplets are thrown up into the atmosphere as disease-laden aerosols. This remains in the atmosphere for up to eight minutes. If anyone enters during this time they will breathe in and digest this straight away and this is how you get cross infection. A certain amount of cross infection comes from others coughing and sneezing, but 90% of infections come from within the confines of the toilet area.

Even if you don’t walk in within eight minutes, the fine water droplets settle on the seat, the taps, right down to the cubicle door lock, you touch the taps, the handles, then touch your face and disease gets into your system.

As the W/C or the urinal is flushed, the Fresh & Clean Sanitizer releases a measured dose of anti-bacterial solution (purinel) which neutralizes all those harmful diseases. Although you still get the mist action happening it is neutralized and harmless. The solution also contains a surfactant (wetting agent) which coats the surface with a Teflon-like coating and helps prevent uric acid and bacteria clinging to the sides of the Urinal pan and W/C Pan.

When warm urine hits cold stainless steel or porcelain it crystallizes and forms uric acid, crystals being crystals, they cling together and over time pipes can become clogged and can eventually close up. 99% of the time the cause of odours in the toilets is uric acid.
